Throwback Poetry from 2013

It was bright
Shimmering and slick
Life was a gorgeous princess
And was cherished more than nature itself

Then came the day,
The sun went down
And the elements in the heavens
Poured down in rain

Heart cold and quiver inevitable
Palpitations insurmountable,
But God’s wondrous work inexplainable
When in his might he says
“Your sun shall no more go down”

An even greater beauty
Never seen and told
A new story begins
And the journey to life’s beauty
Is just about to start
All the ashes poured down
In the hell of fury and jealousy
Now turned around to beauty, beauty!
The everlasting light taking preeminence.
How beautiful are you O Lord of host.

Adapted from Isaiah 60:20
“Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.”
