Return, for wrath rises

Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness. (Ezekiel 28:7 KJV)

As dirty and undeserving
A cloak was worn to cover
The emptiness that lay within
And the artificial outward disguise

Just one day, we became famous
Like celebrities we were known
Although not celebrated,
for we were known as Christians

Soon settled in as royalty
Of a blessed heritage,
Wealth and fame beyond Solomon’s
Wisdom and Understanding superseding Proverbs’

Arms outstretched and hearts distuned
We forgot whence we came
Unlike the prodigal many cannot return
For the dirt that lives on earth is now seen as a better lens
