Babes in Grace

“Why remain a babe in grace?” Was the highlight of Spurgeon’s faith check book this morning.

…and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. (Malachi 4:2 KJV)

So we were fed and made fat
Like kids we grew to an extent
We became satisfied with our state
In our estate, we lived as arrived
But He was displeased
We were expected to hunger for more
More of the food that once fed us
And even better food of better nourishment
Laziness ate into our bones
The string stretched beyond its elastic point
And the call came back to us
Like the thunder clap over our heads
We remembered and screamed
“More grace Lord, give to us your Children”
“We want more of you and all of you”
Sometimes we forget our past
But then the past helps us to Praise
So Lord once again, we cry “Grace!”
