And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. (Matthew 26:39 KJV)

What a heartfelt situation
When you fell on your knees
For the sake of ingrates
Tears spilled down your cheeks
Your sweat stream down
And was likened to blood

For that prayer, then you knew
You understood the extent,
The love and mercy
For which you left your throne
Alone, in the garden
You understood humanity

My Lord and Saviour
In persistent prayer
As you persevered with the King
So did you show an example
For I wish to always be alone
Alone with you in persistent prayer
