Oh Africa

Where once laid the beauty of the world
Now trodden and worn with jealousy

Where lived true peace and harmony
Now replaced with war and conflict

I see your children, scattered abroad
I hear you speak in language so distinct

Africa comes calling, crying to them
For it is now an old woman with many sad tales

There lies in her home one of its battered children
Sitting and watching, its home threadbare

Your tears of toil will repay
For your beauty will ne’er decay

Your memories forever lingering
Even to those miles away from you

Like a war story with great victory
You’ll ever be told to generations

Oh Africa, dear Africa
Where the beauty of earth lies

See to it that you arise
Fight for the Africa we know

Stand firm and be our dear Africa
