Teary language

They ask questions
You know you should say something
But speaking past the lump
The throat closes
And all you do
Is the language of the eyes
It betrays you
It ruins your face
With its streak
The words become obvious

When that is all the language
All the words you can say
All your heart’s content poured out
Every tear drop a meaning
A hurt, a disappointment
But not without Hope
Though he pain may be obvious
Though a miracle may seem impossible
But when God steps in
The teary language turns to praise
When our heart is right with him
He fixes even the unsaid and the utterly broken

Christ becomes our teary language
When we tell the story,
Our eyes fill with love and awe
For Christ our only redeemer
He is all the language
Our heart, eye, and throat understands
He our only hope of salvation
Becomes our teary language
